are there any medicinal herbs that interact with pharmacheuticals? what are they?

I have heard of a few, but I was wondering if anyone has any references to trials or proofs that show interferences?

There are many medicinal herbs which will interact in some form or fashion with over the counter drugs as well as prescription drugs. Some that come to mind are valerian root;it can interfere if you take any sort of sleep aid,or if you take any sort of anxiety prescription drug such as xanax or elavil. It can slow you down TOO much by taking both. Another is CQ10; if you take anything for your heart, such as a regulator for irregular heartbeat. It can confuse the heart and make the meds worthless or even harmfull. Try reading a good Herbal Dictionary and usually it will help identify which herbs can bump heads with pharmacheuticals.

ANY of them have the potential to, depending on one’s metabolism/uptake. Be careful and do the research before self-medicating.
