The easier question to answer would be “Which don’t”.
Almost every herb you can think of can be grown in the midwest.
You are lucky you have good rich soils this will support you growing most herbs although the colder weather may make it slightly more difficult to grow certain heat loving varieties, many herbs I sell prefer hot humid environments but it will be good fun to experiment.
You can also bring your herbs in in the winter months they will last well and can be re-potted early spring after frost has passed.
Good luck! I am sure you will have fun in your herbal-discovery journey.
I checked out that site above and wow. It is full of all kinds of information. Thanks for the link.
Herbs can grow in any good garden soil. Soil with nearly neutral qualities is best for herbs and a ph reading in the range of 6.5 and 7.0 will result in healthy herb growth. Herbs are extremely easy to grow with correct sunlight and a good soil mix. Growing herbs also requires a good location with drainage.
